 About Mattress Warranties

Mattress Barn is committed to helping it's customers if there is a problem with their mattress.  We will be here to help facilitate warranty claims and make sure you are getting timely and fair service with your warranty.

A mattress warranty is a commitment by the manufacturer that the mattress they make will remain within certain performance characteristics within the time of the warranty.  The mattresses we offer have full replacement policies for at least 3 years, many have warranties for 10 years.  Some policies offer full replacement for only part of the warranty period.  When comparing mattresses, please be aware of this.  Our sales staff is trained to explain these policies, but please take the time to make sure you understand the exact warranty policy of the mattresses you are interested in.  A non pro-rated policy is a full replacement policy for the entire warranty period, while a pro-rated warranty requires you to pay part of the cost of goods to get a replacement.     

It is very important that a mattress has at least a one year, full replacement warranty.  If a mattress were to fail it would normally be within the first 6-12 months of use.

It is important to have a certain length, as mentioned above, but anything beyond 10 years is usually not necessary. Most products sold at Mattress Barn come with a 10 year, full replacement warranty.

A word of caution:
You should be wary of companies that use excessive warranty periods to sell mattresses.  Mattresses with a warranty of 25 years may be of use (comfort-life) for only 3 years.  Contrary to popular opinion a mattress warranty is not a comfort guarantee.  Although a mattress may have a 20+ year warranty, it may lose it's support and comfort characteristics sooner, while still being within manufacturers guidelines.  Consider instead if you can trust the product, it's brand name, and the company that sells it.  We try to offer only quality mattresses, but their are defects occasionally and that is why we are here to help.
